Stretching from from Riverside State Park to the Idaho border, the 37-mile trail follows the Spokane River trough parks, Spokane's downtown and natural areas. The trail provides varying of activities such as hiking, biking, horse riding, running or in-line skating.
Riverfront Park in Spokane features a pavilion, a carousel, an Imax theater, a Vietnam veterans memorial and plenty of space for outdoor activities. A number of special events are held at the park throughout the year.
This is an old granite quarry named in honor of A.T. Dishman who extracted tons of granite to help rebuild the town after the Great Fire of 1889. The hike trail around the East Pond is open from March to November.
Located northwest of the conservatory in Manito Park, this is one of the primary horticultural attractions in the Inland Northwest. The garden features formal beds of 1,500 rose bushes of over 150 varieties.
This 2900-acre park, located northwest of downtown, offers a series of scenic trails that traverse beautiful woodland areas and flowered meadows. Fishing and camping are permitted. There are also designated swimming areas.
Dedicated by both cities Nishinomiya, Japan, and Spokane, the garden was designed in 1974 by Nagao Sakurai, the architect who was in charge of the Imperial Palace grounds.
The garden area is home to a wide variety of trees, shrubs, and other plant life. In the spring,can be seen azaleas and rhododendrons blossom with extraordinary colors.
